All Recipes : Here is a Basic Recipe For Making Palak Paneer

Palak paneer Recipes  | Palak paneer is a popular Indian dish made with spinach (palak) and paneer (a type of Indian cottage cheese). There are many variations of the recipe, but a traditional method for making palak paneer is as follows:

  • 1 lb fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 lb paneer, cut into cubes
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 green chilies, minced (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)


  1. Wash and clean the spinach leaves, then blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Drain the spinach and puree it in a blender or food processor.
  3. Heat the ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Once hot, add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  5. Add the onions, ginger, and garlic and fry until they turn golden brown.
  6. Add the spinach puree, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add the cubed paneer and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add the cream, if using. Mix it well and cook for another minute.
  9. Serve hot with rice or naan bread.

This is a simple version of the recipe, and you can customize it to your taste. You can add more spices or use more cream for a richer taste, or add other vegetables for more variety.
