Donald Trump hush money trial: Stormy Daniels’ ex-lawyer describes 2016 election day, ‘What did we do?’

Keith Davidson, who represented Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, was back on the stand Thursday in the hush money trial against Donald Trump. Continuing his testimony, the LA-based lawyer described Election Day 2016 under questioning by prosecutor Joshua Steinglass. Davidson detailed the hush money settlement for Daniels in a conversation with Michael Cohen, revealing how Daniels agreed to keep quiet in exchange for $130,000.

During the prosecution, Davidson testified about losing confidence in Cohen after “delaying funds” after the deal with Daniels. He revealed how the agreement includes a $1 million penalty in case of breach. It is also reported that both Daniels and Trump’s pseudonyms were used in the confidential agreement. However, according to CBS News, the former president never signed the papers.

Davidson then went on to describe the events before and after November 18, 2016, when Trump won his presidency. Jurors saw a screengrab of a text between Davidson and Dylan Howard, editor of the National Enquirer, in which the former wrote, “What have we done?” When Howard replied “Oh my God”.

“It was a gallows joke. There was an understanding that our actions could somehow help Donald Trump’s presidential campaign,” Davidson testified. She also noted that Cohen, who had been “frustrated” and “frustrated” in the days following the election, called her frequently.

“It was a long call, and he told me he was depressed and depressed and said I was — and he used very colorful language about that stage of his life,” Davidson recalled. He also explained that Cohen admitted that Trump never paid him and that he would never get a refund for his $130,000 hush money payment to Daniels.

When Steinglass asked him if he could quote the “colorful language” Cohen used, Davidson said, “He said something like, ‘Jesus Christ, can you believe I’m not going to Washington, after all I’ve done for that king. ?'” “I can’t believe I’m not going to Washington. I’ve saved that guy’s ass so many times, you don’t even know,” he added.
