NEET 2024 Result Delayed Despite Scoring 715 out of 720: NTA Explanation and Student Appeal in High Court

In a recent development, Ayushi, a student from Lucknow, has faced a setback as her NEET result has been withheld due to a torn OMR sheet, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA). Ayushi has filed a petition in the Lucknow High Court regarding this matter, claiming that the torn OMR sheet is not her fault but rather negligence on the part of NTA. Additionally, Ayushi’s mother expressed dissatisfaction, stating that her daughter’s hard work should not go in vain.

Since the release of NEET UG 2024 results, students across the country have expressed frustration towards the NTA. Social media platforms are abuzz with protests from medical students, and amidst this, another student from Lucknow has taken legal action against NTA by filing a petition in the High Court. Ayushi’s Allegations

Ayushi Patel, a resident of Lucknow, has joined the ranks of countless students who appeared for the NEET exam this year. However, when the results were announced on June 4th, Ayushi’s result was withheld, with NTA citing a torn OMR sheet as the reason. Ayushi, perplexed by this revelation, asserts that she carefully filled and submitted her OMR sheet during the examination. Her uncle, who is a lawyer at the Lucknow High Court, immediately contacted NTA on June 4th, sending three legal notices and seven emails, demanding Ayushi’s OMR sheet to be sent via email. Surprisingly, within 24 hours, NTA responded with evidence confirming the torn OMR sheet.

Disbelief Over the Torn OMR Sheet

Upon receiving the emailed OMR sheet, Ayushi and her family were shocked to see that indeed, the sheet was torn. The filled bubbles on Ayushi’s OMR sheet were clearly visible, raising doubts about how it got torn. Ayushi maintains that she followed all examination protocols diligently, and even the invigilators ensured the proper submission of her OMR sheet. Thus, Ayushi refuses to take responsibility for the torn sheet and demands that her result not be withheld.

Ayushi’s Appeal to the High Court

In light of these events, Ayushi has filed a petition in the Lucknow High Court, requesting the court to intervene until a decision is reached regarding her torn OMR sheet. Until the High Court provides a verdict on the matter, Ayushi insists that the process of releasing NEET results should be halted.

A Mother’s Anguish

Ayushi’s father runs a small medical store in Alam Bagh, Lucknow, while her mother, Shashi Patel, is a homemaker. Despite facing financial constraints, Ayushi’s parents supported her education. Shashi, deeply saddened by her daughter’s predicament, emphasizes that Ayushi’s hard work should be recognized, and unfair treatment should not be meted out to her.

As the Lucknow High Court prepares to hear Ayushi’s plea on Wednesday, the case has sparked nationwide discussions about the integrity of examination processes and the responsibility of testing agencies like NTA. Ayushi’s story serves as a reminder of the immense pressure and challenges faced by students in competitive exams and the need for a fair and transparent evaluation system.
