Rihanna looked gorgeous in gray ahead of the Met Gala on Monday — and during it, she announced her third pregnancy.
The Fenty founder — a longtime Met Gala mainstay whose partner A$AP Rocky is co-chairing the event this year — was spotted arriving at the star-studded event on Monday ahead of the event. The music icon wore a gray hat and two-piece set with gray socks and dark gray pointed heels, but all eyes were on something else: the star’s pregnant belly.
Yes, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s third child. The two are already parents to RZA Athelstan Meyers, born May 13, 2022, and Riot Rose Meyers, born August 3, 2023.
Rocky told reporters who congratulated him on the pregnancy news: “It feels amazing.”

“Now it’s time for us to show people what we were building. And I’m glad that everyone is happy for us because we’re definitely happy, you know,” he said.
Rocky said the reception has been a “blessing.”
“Because you know how some people can be jealous of other people sometimes in other situations. But we’re mostly seeing love,” he said. “And we really accept it and appreciate it, you know what I mean? It’s love. Love is love.”
When Rihanna finally hit the carpet at the Met Gala — the star is known for arriving fashionably late to the Met Gala, usually with a dramatic outfit — she switched up her gray look and wore a suit dress, complete with a black hat, tie and pinstriped skirt that zipped down to show off her belly.
This isn’t the first time Rihanna has announced a pregnancy at a major cultural event. At the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023, fans were shocked to see that the “What’s My Name?” singer was expecting her second child when her outfit revealed her pregnant belly.
However, Rihanna later shared that she didn’t intend to announce her pregnancy to the world — and that it was a backstage snafu that forced the situation.
“My jumper wouldn’t zip up,” she told Access Hollywood in December 2023. “Nobody knew I was pregnant – I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy.'” Rihanna announced her first pregnancy in January 2022, after photographers spotted her baby bump in New York City. The nine-time Grammy winner previously spoke to British Vogue about becoming a mother, telling the magazine in 2023: “Oh my god, it’s legendary. It’s everything. You don’t really remember life before, it’s the craziest thing ever. You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t allow yourself to move on mentally that much, because… it doesn’t matter.”
