‘Squid Game’ Gets Ready to ‘Play One Last Time’ in Season 3 Teaser
The first teaser for the final season of “Squid Game” shows the game and the series heading towards their end.
The trailer shows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) being brought back to the sleeping barracks in a coffin after a failed rebellion at the end of Season 2 — but he’s alive. A quick cut of the clip shows an ominous gumball machine that tries to further divide the remaining players without any input, a tense “dinner” and new arrivals on the island, while the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) watches.

“It’s time to play one last time” flashes across the screen in the trailer.
The second season ended with the players who voted to continue the game and those who voted to end it fighting each other in the bathroom. The chaos that follows leads to Gi-hun, Park Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan) and others engaging in a shootout with the guards. In the final moments of the episode, In-ho attacks the rebel players and kills Jung-bae in front of Gi-hun as their attempt to defeat the guards and reach the VIP fails.
“It’s a huge blow that devastates him,” Lee Jung-jae, the actor behind Gi-hun, told TheWrap after Season 2. “[Gi-hun] believed very strongly that he could finish the game together with Jung-bae, but that’s no longer possible.”
“After Jung-bae’s death at the end of Season 2, Gi-hun became a different person,” said series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
He added: “Nobody is safe in Season 3.”
The third and final season of “Squid Game” will debut on Netflix on June 27.
