Bareilly Controversy: Maulana Plans Mass Conversion of Hindu Boys and Girls
Mass Conversion News: In a bold challenge to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government, a Maulana has announced a plan to convert Hindu boys and girls to Islam en masse. He stated that after reciting the Kalma, he will also arrange their marriages.
Who is Maulana Tauqeer Raza? Maulana Tauqeer Raza from Bareilly is set to lead this mass conversion. He has announced the date, the time, and the number of people who will convert. He has asked for permission from the administration for this event.
When Will Tauqeer Convert Hindu Girls to Islam?
Tauqeer Raza, the President of Ittehad-e-Millat Council, announced that he will convert 23 boys and girls to Islam and arrange their mass marriage. The event will start with 5 boys and girls on July 21 at 11 AM. Tauqeer has sought permission from the district administration.
Hindus Do Not Even Ask for Permission for Conversion
Taking a jab at Hindus, Maulana Tauqeer Raza mentioned that they have asked the district administration for permission for mass conversion and marriage. However, Hindus do not even do that. He claimed that a large number of Muslim girls have been married to Hindus without seeking any permission. Tauqeer Raza is known for his influential presence among Barelvi Muslims and his sharp statements.
Tauqeer: The Mastermind Behind Bareilly Riots
In a court hearing, Maulana Tauqeer Raza was declared the mastermind behind the Bareilly riots. In March 2010, a Bareilly court labeled him as the mastermind behind the communal riots in the Kutubkhana area. Additional District Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar summoned Tauqeer on March 11, 2010, regarding the riots in the city police station and Prem Nagar police station areas.
The court noted that despite sufficient evidence, senior officials did not include Tauqeer’s name in the charge sheet, indicating that they supported the mastermind of the riots. The court recommended action against these officials as well.
Tauqeer’s Speech Incited Violence
Reports state that on March 2, 2010, Barawafat and Holi processions were to take place. Despite the peaceful conduct of both processions, it is alleged that Maulana Tauqeer Raza delivered an inflammatory speech to a large gathering. This incited a riot from Kutubkhana in the city police station area to Kuhada Peer Market in the Prem Nagar police station area. During the riot, the crowd set a police post on fire and burned Hindu homes. A 27-day curfew was imposed in the city due to the violence.
